BRIEF - THE PINNACLE OF NATURE

Our brief included a discovery trip to the single estate of Eduardo Cortez in Jalisco, Mexico.
In so many ways this project was, Eduardo’s proud coming home story.
His father had worked in the Agave fields of Jalisco, before their family migration to the US.
This was a full circle moment.
 
The brief itself was to create a $500USD bottle of tequila, and at that price the form itself has to be something more trophy like. We knew we wanted this brand to be incurred in the status need-state.
The idea for this design was born whilst studying the Blue Weber Agave up close in the fields. The agave is a magnificent spectacle, a striking sheer form. 
Whilst at the distillery a hummingbird flew into one the cellars. To this day that same hummingbird will fly into the hand of the distillery’s caretaker. Given that Eduardo cared about the tiniest details in the Tequila process, it was only fitting to use the serendipitous event to craft the brand iconography.
