Piazza D’oro is a global ‘roast & ground’ coffee brand for JDE. This redesign was born out of the emergence of craft coffee, which was depositioning more established legacy brands from the old world of coffee. Italy in our instance.
The new identity played into both the old world craft & elegance of Europe, but also spoke to the emergence of latte art that had become a hallmark of so many boutique coffee houses. Piazza meaning square and D’oro meaning gold. The work played out to its literal translation in the work. We spun the square on its side, bringing energy and contrast vs the flowing and elegant interior of the marque. There's no doubt our team were inspired by the shot you can see at the start of this project!
